The FCA 12+8 adapter is a universal adapter designed for use with automotive diagnostic equipment when working with FCA group vehicles. The adapter allows a diagnostic tool to connect to the vehicle via the OBD2 port when the vehicle is equipped with the SGW (Security Gateway) module.
FCA group vehicles from 2018 onward are equipped with the SGW module, which restricts access for third-party diagnostic tools to vehicle systems. The FCA 12+8 adapter allows diagnostic equipment to connect to these vehicles.
